WASHINGTON — Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha held separate meetings with Waymo Co-Chief Executive Officer Tekedra Mawakana and CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman during his current visit to the United States.
The meetings were part of the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen collaboration with leading global technology companies in developing smart mobility systems and autonomous driving technologies. The meetings also aimed to strengthen global partnerships in technology and artificial intelligence and expand collaboration in generative technologies and the development of innovative solutions.
During the meeting, Alswaha and Mawakana discussed partnerships to develop future technologies that contribute to building intelligent transport solutions and enabling innovation in autonomous driving, in line with the Kingdom’s vision to enhance urban sustainability and improve the efficiency of modern mobility systems.
In their meeting, Alswaha and Sam Altman discussed enabling AI inference centers globally, contributing to the development of advanced infrastructure that supports trusted AI applications and enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for advanced research and technologies.
The collaboration comes as a continuation of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to support the digital economy and AI ecosystem, and to reinforce its leadership in building a future based on knowledge and innovation, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
