RIYADH — Saudi Arabia welcomed the signing of the Doha Framework for Peace Agreement between the government of Congo and the Congo River Alliance "M23 Movement."

“Saudi Arabia looks forward to both parties committing to the provisions of the agreement, which contribute to addressing disputes and conflicts through comprehensive national dialogue,” the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

“Saudi Arabia looks forward to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the restoration of security, stability, and prosperity across all regions of the country. The Kingdom further stressed the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to areas affected by the conflict,” the statement said, adding Saudi Arabia values the diplomatic efforts exerted and the constructive role played by Qatar in achieving this agreement.
