JOHANNESBURG — The G20 Startup20 Summit concluded on Saturday in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and discussions on cooperation with international organizations focused on developing the startup ecosystem.

The Saudi delegation presented several national initiatives and experiences that have contributed to growing the entrepreneurial environment and empowering youth in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi delegation to the summit was headed by Chairman of the G20 Startups Prince Fahd bin Mansour. The event, sponsored by NEOM, was attended by representatives from government bodies and the private and non-profit sectors involved in entrepreneurship and innovation. Saudi Arabia’s participation at the summit aimed to strengthen its presence within the G20.

Addressing the concluding session of the summit, Prince Fahd bin Mansour emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and innovators. He noted that it demonstrates the progress made in entrepreneurship, strengthens Saudi presence on the international stage, and contributes to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 for a diversified and sustainable economy driven by creativity and promising opportunities.


The Saudi pavilion drew significant attention from representatives of participating countries and international investors. It highlighted key projects and initiatives that reflect the rapid growth of Saudi Arabia’s startup ecosystem. The delegation also took part in workshops and panel discussions aimed at promoting innovation and cross-sector integration to support entrepreneurial ventures and drive sustainable global economic impact.


In a notable national achievement, the Saudi company Netzero secured first place in the Sustainability and Environmental Technology category at the Startup20 Awards. The recognition highlights the company’s innovative solutions and its contribution to advancing green technologies and supporting the transition to a more sustainable future. It also underscores the ability of Saudi startups to compete globally and deliver pioneering solutions with international impact.
