Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of amphetamine (Captagon) pills—estimated at around 3.4 million tablets—through King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. ZATCA’s spokesperson Hammoud Al-Harbi said the shipment, declared as charcoal, was flagged during customs inspection procedures. Security technologies and sniffer dogs revealed the drugs concealed inside charcoal bags. Following the seizure, coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control led to the arrest of three individuals who were set to receive the shipment inside the Kingdom.
