WASHINGTON — The number of Saudi doctors and medical scholarship students in the United States and Canada has reached a total of 8,036 between 2020 and 2025, including 6,052 in the US and 1,984 in Canada.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), statistics show that the number of Saudi medical graduates in Canada grew by 256%, rising from 170 graduates in 2020 to an estimated 606 in 2025.

The United States also recorded a 62% increase, with the number of expected graduates in 2025 reaching 1,847, compared with 1,140 in 2020.

Saudi Cultural Attaché in the US and Canada, and supervisor of South American countries, Dr. Tahani Al-Baiz, said the figures reflect the success of the leadership’s vision to invest in Saudi talent, particularly in the healthcare field.

She noted that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program has been instrumental in developing highly qualified national professionals with global academic and practical expertise.

Dr. Al-Baiz added that expanding academic partnerships with leading international universities has helped prepare specialized medical cadres capable of supporting Vision 2030 objectives to enhance healthcare quality and efficiency. She stressed that investing in Saudi minds remains the most valuable investment for the future of the Kingdom’s health sector.
