Saudi students win 129 international science awards in 2025

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) announced that Saudi students secured 129 international awards in 2025, achieved across 26 international Olympiads and the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

The achievements, realized in partnership with the Ministry of Education, enabled Saudi Arabia to maintain its second-place global ranking at ISEF.

Over the course of the year, Saudi national teams also won a total of 996 awards in regional and international scientific competitions.

Mawhiba, a non-profit foundation dedicated to identifying and nurturing gifted students locally and internationally, said more than 31,000 students benefited from its programs in 2025. Of those, over 14,000 participated in advanced academic and scientific research initiatives.

The programs were delivered through 105 local and international initiatives, implemented in cooperation with 70 educational and scientific institutions across 24 cities in the Kingdom.

The foundation also reported a major milestone in its National Program for Gifted Identification, which registered more than 95,000 students during the year.

In addition, the Mawhiba Advanced Program for Science and Mathematics supported more than 2,770 students across 100 cities and governorates, focusing on strengthening skills in science, mathematics, and research excellence.

Mawhiba said the results reflect the Kingdom’s sustained investment in talent development and its growing presence in global scientific competitions.
