MAKKAH — Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mishaal praised the bravery of the Saudi security man Rayan bin Saeed Al-Ahmad, who has been admitted to hospital after sustaining injuries while saving a pilgrim when he jumped from the upper floor of the Grand Mosque. The deputy emir visited Rayan at the Security Forces Hospital in Makkah to reassure his health.
The deputy emir conveyed to him the greetings and appreciation of the Saudi leadership. Praising his heroic act, bravery, and dedication to duty, Prince Saud called him "a hero, a hero, a hero."
Prince Saud emphasized that his courageous actions embody the values and humane conduct of a Saudi security officer. He prayed for his speedy recovery. The deputy emir also met with the medical team overseeing the treatment of Rayan and listened to their briefing on his condition and the medical services being rendered to him.
The heroic act of Rayan went viral on social media with large number of social media users from all over the world commended his extraordinary bravery in saving the life of the pilgrim. The swift intervention of Rayan averted the fatal fall of the pilgrim. Rayan sustained multiple injuries while attempting to prevent him from hitting the ground at the time of fall. Medical teams rushed to the scene instantly and both the security officer and the pilgrim were transferred to hospital.
Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif recently held a phone call with Rayan to inquire about his health condition. The minister praised Rayan’s bravery, selfless humanitarian act, commitment to duty, and dedication to his security mission.
