MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has allocated dedicated passages for elderly people and persons with disabilities inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah. This is to facilitate their performance of worship and provide a safe and comfortable environment that enhances ease and comfort, as part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims and worshipers.
The authority noted that these passages have been carefully distributed in strategic locations to ease movement and reduce the hardship these groups may face when entering and exiting or moving between the different levels of the Grand Mosque. It noted that allocating these routes falls within an integrated system of services designed to address the needs of the elderly and persons with disabilities and to ensure smooth access to various facilities, reflecting the leadership’s keenness to serve those heading to the Grand Mosque in accordance with the highest humanitarian and service standards.
The authority called on all visitors and Umrah pilgrims to use the spatial guidance guide at the Grand Mosque, which shows the locations of routes, elevators, and supporting services, helping worshippers and Umrah pilgrims to navigate with ease and convenience, especially during peak times.
