BEIRUT —
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam told a visiting Saudi delegation in Beirut that Lebanon is fully committed to ensuring its territory is not used to harm the security of Arab countries or to facilitate drug smuggling.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Salam received the Saudi delegation to discuss measures to resume Lebanese exports to the Kingdom.

“I have instructed all relevant authorities to act quickly to remove any obstacles hindering the return of this vital economic sector,” he said.

Salam added that he reaffirmed to the delegation Lebanon’s pledge “not to allow its territory to be used as a platform to destabilize the security of its Arab brothers, or as a passageway for smuggling drugs or any prohibited materials.”

He also welcomed the Saudi delegation participating in the “Beirut 1” conference, noting that its presence offers significant encouragement for Lebanon’s economic recovery.
