RIYADH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia's condemnation and denunciation of the attack on a United Nations compound in Kadugli, Sudan.


The Kingdom emphasized the necessity of an immediate cessation of hostilities, as well as the preservation of Sudan's unity and institutions. It also underlined the need for providing protection for civilians and implementing the commitments made in the Jeddah Declaration (commitment to protect civilians in Sudan) adopted on May 11, 2023.

Six UNISFA peacekeepers were killed in a drone attack targeting their camp in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan state in southern Sudan, the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) announced in a statement on Saturday. The statement clarified that all the victims were Bangladeshi nationals, adding that the attack also left six other peacekeepers wounded.
