ROME — Saudi Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani met with his Italian counterpart Carlo Nordio in Rome during an official visit to Italy.

The ministers discussed enhancing judicial cooperation and exchanging expertise in legislation and judicial systems, aiming to improve the efficiency of justice systems in both countries.

Al-Samaani highlighted the ongoing reforms within the Saudi justice system, including the implementation of a preventive justice framework, strengthening legal safeguards, and enhancing transparency through audio and video documentation of court hearings.

During the meeting, the ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in judicial systems and develop the professional competencies of judges and judicial sector employees, as well as to foster greater integration and expertise exchange between the two countries.
