WARSAW — Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Poland, Inas Al-Shahwan, presented her credentials on Friday to President Karol Nawrocki.

During the ceremony, both sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and partnership between Saudi Arabia and Poland, and discussed ways to enhance joint work in support of common interests.

Al-Shahwan is the third Saudi female diplomat to be appointed as an ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. She was previously appointed in April 2021 as ambassador to Sweden and Iceland, following Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, ambassador to the United States, and Amal Al-Moalimi, ambassador to Norway.

Al-Shahwan holds a master’s degree in international relations from Australia and joined the Saudi Foreign Ministry in 2007, serving in several positions, most recently as adviser to the deputy foreign minister for political affairs. She is the first woman from the diplomatic corps to serve as ambassador.

She is also a graduate of the first batch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Future Leaders Program” launched in 2017, and completed the Emerging Leadership Program at Harvard University.

Throughout her career, Al-Shahwan has represented Saudi Arabia in multiple regional and international forums and contributed to training Foreign Ministry and government employees by delivering lectures and workshops on international relations.
