Riyadh police arrest expat for exploiting women and children in begging

RIYADH —
Riyadh police, in coordination with the General Directorate of Community Security and Anti-Human Trafficking, have arrested a Yemeni national for violating the Anti-Human Trafficking Law by exploiting women and children of the same nationality in street begging.

Authorities said the individual was detained and legal measures have been taken against him.

He has been referred to the Public Prosecution, while coordination is underway with relevant agencies to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the victims.

The arrest comes as part of ongoing security campaigns to monitor and apprehend those engaged in organized begging across public squares and streets.
