The Saudi U-20 fencing team clinched the bronze medal in the épée event at the U-20 Fencing World Cup, which concluded on Sunday in Lagos, Nigeria.

The team secured a narrow 39-38 victory against Hong Kong, marking Saudi Arabia's first-ever team medal in a Fencing World Cup competition.

Represented by Hassan Abed, Ahmed Hazzazi, Ali Al-Fazei, and Youssef Al-Banali, the Saudi team achieved significant milestones throughout the tournament.

In the quarterfinals, they defeated Benin with a commanding 45-15 victory before falling to Egypt in the semifinals, 37-23.

This bronze adds to Saudi Arabia's success in the tournament, as Hassan Abed also earned a silver medal in the individual épée event on Saturday.

Following their impressive performance, the Saudi U-20 team is expected to enter the top 15 in the international rankings. They are currently ranked 21st.
