JEDDAH —
Saleh Al-Shahri propelled his new team, Al Ittihad, into the Round of 16 of the King’s Cup with a standout performance against Al Ain, scoring two goals, during their match at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.

Al Ittihad wasted no time in taking control of the game, with Al-Shahri opening the scoring in the 25th minute. Just minutes later, an own goal by an Al Ain defender doubled Al Ittihad's lead in the 29th minute. In the second half, Al Ittihad was awarded a penalty, which Al-Shahri successfully converted, securing the 3-0 victory.

The team entered the match with several key players rested, as coach Laurent Blanc opted to give opportunities to the substitutes, who ultimately delivered and secured the win.

In another match, Al Shabab eliminated Al Kholood from the tournament, advancing to the Round of 16 after a 3-1 victory.
