Saudi Gazette report

ALQASSIM —
English defender Chris Smalling's first match for Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League was disappointing, as his team suffered a 5-0 defeat against Al-Raed.

Smalling, who recently joined from AS Roma, accidentally scored an own goal in the first match.

To make matters worse, he received a red card in the 55th minute after a review by the Video Assistant Referee.

Smalling, who signed with Al-Faihah in the final days of the summer transfer window, will hope to make a better impression upon his return from suspension.
