The Al-Ittihad women's football team will depart on Saturday for Girona, Spain, to conduct an overseas training camp in preparation for the upcoming Saudi Women's Premier League season, which is set to kick off on September 27.

The camp, which will run from August 24 to September 10, will be led by Brazilian coach Lindsay Camila. The team is scheduled to play four friendly matches during the camp.

They will face Barcelona on August 27, Levante on August 30, Espanyol on September 4, and conclude their friendlies against Girona on September 7.

During the summer, the team made significant signings, including Slovenian goalkeeper Zala Meršnik and player Nadine Kaaki. They have also retained key players from the previous season, including Jordanian Shahnaz Jebreen, Lebanese players Layla Iskandar and Lyan Ruby, and Nigerian Ashley Plumptre, all of whom represented the team during the 2023-2024 season.

Al-Ittihad finished sixth in the Saudi Women's Football League standings last season and will be looking to improve their position in the upcoming campaign.
