JEDDAH — Barca Football Club beat Angry Birds Football Club 6-4 in a thrilling final to claim the IYWA Cup Trophy here.

Barca manager Tanweer Siddiqui played the same line-up that won the semifinal against IISJ. Barca took the lead through Khalid. It was all Barca from that point onward. It toyed with the Angry Birds, spraying passes all over and creating numerous chances. Imaad scored the first of his three goals five minutes later to give Barca a 2-0 lead. He scored again two minutes later and Waleed made it 4-0 five minutes later. Angry Birds did not give up as coach Mohammed Abulia tried to keep them motivated. Mohammed finally managed to reduce the margin 4-1 by scoring from the spot in the 15th minute. Sami pulled another back in the 20th minute.

Barca started from where it left off before the break and increased the margin immediately when Imaad scored his third goal to make it 5-3.
Angry Birds pulled one more back to make it 5-4. Waleed Shamlan,however, still had time to put one more in the net three minutes before time to make it 6-4.

Third place trophy was won by Shareef Khan Football Club, while the fourth spot was clinched by IISJ.

The umpires who supervised the matches were: Mohammed Zamman, Mohammed Jaweed, Syed Kazim Hussain, Tanweer Siddiqui, Osman, Azizullah, Syed Mehdi Hussain, Khalid Bayazeed, Mir Taqi Ali, Mir Fazal Ali, Khalid Bayazeed, Fahd Abdul Basith and Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki.

The awards went to: Best Player – Waleed Shamlan (Barca); Best Goalkeeper – Waheeb Khateeb (Shareef Khan); Fair Play - Affan Bin Shabibi (Finisherz Shadab); Promising Player of the Tournament – Ayman Mohammed Khan (IYWA); and Upcoming Players Osama Anwar and Mohammed Hyder Abbas Zaki (IYWA).
Chief Guest S.D. Moorthy, Consul Community Welfare, Consulate General of India, Jeddah, gave away the cash prize and the winner’s trophy to Barca captain Nazimuddin.

Syed Masood Ahmad, Principal of IISJ, was the Guest of Honor and gave away the cash prize and runner-up trophy to Angry Birds captain Sami.

L. Ramnarayan Iyer, Chief Patron of IYWA, gave away the third place trophy to Shareef Khan FC and the fourth place trophy to IISJ official Ghouse Mohiuddin. IYWA also honored the Head of Department Sports, IISJ, Ghouse Mohiuddin in appreciation for his dedicated service to sports and the student community in the Kingdom.

The IYWA Cup Football Tournament was supervized by Anwar Ul Haq, treasurer IYWA.

Indian Youth Welfare Association (IYWA), a non-political and non-profit association, organized the league-cum-knockout tournament. In all, 11 teams took part in the tournament played under floodlights.

The 14-day event was mainly sponsored by Trane Dallah Trading and supported by IGNOU, Al-Bassami International, Stag Consultancy, Hyderabad Sweets Aziziah, Tasty Taste, Saudi Diyar Consultant and Mushir Alam Perfumes.
