RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s table egg production exceeded 8.4 billion eggs in 2024, marking an increase of 6.4 percent compared to 2023, according to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
The Riyadh region ranked first, producing around 3.2 billion eggs, followed by the Makkah region with 1.5 billion eggs, and the Eastern Province with approximately 1.1 billion eggs.
The ministry revealed that 82 percent of Saudi Arabia’s table egg production is covered by the Saudi Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) quality label, reflecting producers’ commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and food safety, ensuring that local products comply with national and international standard specifications, and enhancing consumer confidence.
The ministry said that through expanding the application of the accredited Saudi GAP quality label, the ministry seeks to encourage compliance with approved standards and enhance consumer trust in local products. Saudi GAP is one of the ministry’s initiatives aimed at supporting good agricultural practices, improving the quality of plant and animal production, and encouraging producers to adhere to the highest safety and quality standards.
