TABUK—Parts of northwestern Tabuk experienced a significant drop in temperatures early on Sunday, particularly in open areas and highlands, leading to frost formation in exposed locations, as the ongoing cold wave continues to affect the northern region of the Kingdom.
According to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), temperatures are expected to keep falling, accompanied by active winds in Tabuk. The NCM also indicated that the cold conditions are expected to persist in the coming days.
The center noted that the governorates of Arar, Qurayyat, and Turaif recorded the lowest temperatures in the Kingdom on Sunday, reaching 0 degrees Celsius in each governorate. The temperature in Rafha reached 3 degrees Celsius, and in Sakaka 4 degrees Celsius, joining the list of the coldest areas in the Kingdom.
The NCM predicted active winds in Makkah and Madinah, and a drop in temperatures accompanied by active winds in several regions, including Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province.
