JEDDAH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued an orange-level weather warning for several regions across Saudi Arabia, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall.

In the Tabuk region, the warning covers Al Wajh and Umluj from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

In the Madinah region, Yanbu, Al-Rais and Al-Hanakiyah are expected to be affected from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., while AlUla and Khaybar will remain under the warning until 9 p.m.

The Eastern Province, including Al-Ahsa, Al-Adeed and Buqayq, is forecast to be impacted from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In the Makkah region, Al Khurma, Al Moya, Turbah and Ranyah are expected to be affected from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., while Al Jumum will be under warning from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The NCM applies a three-tier warning system — yellow, orange and red — with orange alerts indicating moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and reduced visibility. Red warnings indicate a high risk of flooding.

The warning comes after recent widespread rainfall across the Kingdom and successive cold waves that have affected several regions, including Riyadh, Tabuk and the Northern Borders.
