Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced that 68.7 million people visited the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH. This figure recorded an increase of 2.1 million visitors compared to the previous month.

The authority said that approximately 30 million worshipers visited the Grand Mosque, and these included 94,700 who performed prayer at the Hijr Ismail (the semi-circular area adjacent to the Kaaba), 23.1 million visitors of the Prophet's Mosque, and 1.3 million visitors of the Rawdah Al-Sharif at the Prophet’s Mosque. Additionally, 2.3 million people greeted Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques announced that the total number of Umrah pilgrims from within the Kingdom and abroad during the month of Jumada al-Thani alone exceeded 11.9 million. This reflects the increasing frequency of Umrah pilgrimages, facilitated by the efficiency of the services and facilities provided to the pilgrims.

The statistics also showed that the number of pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom during Jumada al-Thani alone exceeded 1.7 million. This underscores the impact of digital facilities and integrated logistical services that have contributed to streamlining arrival procedures and facilitating the performance of rituals with ease.

This increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims is part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to develop the Hajj, Umrah, and visit system and achieve the goals of Vision 2030. This is through facilitating access for Muslims from around the world to the Two Holy Mosques and providing a comprehensive spiritual experience that prioritizes the comfort and safety of pilgrims from the moment they plan their trip until their departure from the Kingdom.

The ministry and the authority continue to implement joint initiatives to improve the quality of services provided within the Two Holy Mosques and at various points of the journey, in addition to developing digital and operational systems to ensure a smoother and more reassuring experience for the pilgrims.
