RIYADH — The Saudi Public Prosecution affirmed that neglecting animals or allowing them stray in undesignated areas is a violation punishable under Saudi Arabian law.
The Public Prosecution, through its official social media account, emphasized that protecting animals and ensuring their safety is a responsibility of individuals. It stressed that any act involving neglect or endangerment is a violation that warrants accountability. “Failing to provide animals with adequate living conditions is a clear violation of the Gulf Cooperation Council's Animal Welfare Law,” it clarified.
The Public Prosecution stated that these regulations are aimed to promote animal welfare and reduce negative practices that may harm animals or cause health and environmental risks. It urged everyone to adhere to the relevant instructions and regulations and to report any violations noticed in this regard.
