RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has cautioned the public to take utmost vigil amid the forecast of thunderstorms hitting most regions across Saudi Arabia from Sunday to Thursday.

The directorate said that the Makkah region will be affected by moderate to heavy rain leading to flash floods, hail, and dust storms. These include Allith, Qunfudhah, Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat. Light to moderate rain is expected in Jeddah, Bahrah, Khulais, Rabigh, Makkah, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Turabah, Al-Mawayh, and Al-Khurmah.

The Riyadh region will also be affected by moderate to heavy rain leading to flash floods, hail, and dust storms, including Riyadh, Rumah, Al-Majma'ah, Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Shaqra, Thadiq, Huraymila, Marat, Dhurma, Afeef, Ad-Dawadmi, Al-Quway'iyah, Ar-Rayn, Al-Hariq, Al-Muzahmiyah, Al-Dilam, Hawtat Bani Tamim, and Al-Kharj. Light to moderate rain is expected in Al-Aflaj, Wadi Al-Dawasir, and Al-Sulayyil.

The Eastern Province, Hail, Qassim, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir and Jazan regions will be affected by moderate to heavy rains leading to flash floods and hail, while light to moderate rain will be experienced in the Najran region.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the people to exercise caution, remain in safe locations, and avoid passing through valleys and areas prone to flash floods. It also called on the public to adhere to instructions disseminated through various authentic media outlets and social media platforms.
