JAKARTA —Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa inaugurated the Dialogue on Interreligious Harmony Conference, hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs at its headquarters in Jakarta. Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Nasaruddin Umar along with a number of officials and religious and parliamentary leaders attended the conference.
In his address, Dr. Al-Issa emphasized the importance of convening such conferences with renewed themes, grounded in shared values that support coexistence and cooperation in confronting theories of religious conflict and their impact on global peace in general and on diverse societies in particular.
Representatives of various religions in Indonesia also addressed the conference. They highlighted teachings from their respective faiths on social harmony.
