AMMAN — Saudi Arabia has provided with $90 million in financial support to the State of Palestine.
Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid presented the amount to Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Finance Estephan Salameh in a ceremony held at the embassy in Amman on Monday. This support is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to Palestine in 2025.
Prince Mansour stated that this support reflects the Saudi leadership's dedication to assisting the Palestinian government in meeting its financial obligations. He emphasized the importance of this aid in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering amidst economic and humanitarian challenges.
The ambassador also highlighted the support provided to vital sectors, particularly health and education, as an extension of the Kingdom's continuous economic, developmental, relief, and humanitarian assistance to the State of Palestine.
Prince Mansour affirmed the Kingdom's unwavering, historical, and ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights to establish an independent state. In this regard, he noted the recent political efforts undertaken by the Kingdom, in joint chairmanship with France, at the high-level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which have led to broad international recognition of the State of Palestine and the two-state solution.
For his part, Minister Salameh commended the Kingdom's continuous financial and political support, emphasizing the significance of this contribution in alleviating the financial crisis facing the State of Palestine, which recent Israeli policies have exacerbated. He expressed deep appreciation for the Kingdom's steadfast historical position towards the Palestinian people.
Salameh also praised Saudi Arabia's unwavering historical stance toward Palestine and its support for its legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent state. He expressed the Palestinian Authority's gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their continued political, economic, and humanitarian support for Palestine.
