RIYADH — The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has launched the “Road to Riyadh” program as part of the Kingdom’s preparations to host the 6th UN World Data Forum, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from Nov. 9 to 12, 2026.
The initiative was unveiled on Oct. 20 during the Second Statistical Forum for Universities and Statistics Associations in Jeddah, coinciding with World Statistics Day.
Designed to highlight Saudi Arabia’s growing role in global data and statistics, the program aims to raise international awareness of the Kingdom’s digital transformation and its efforts to build a modern, advanced statistical ecosystem.
The initiative also reflects the ambitions of Vision 2030, which emphasizes the development of a knowledge-based economy powered by high-quality data and strengthened through collaboration with international experts, institutions and statistical bodies.
As part of its year-long agenda, “Road to Riyadh” will include a series of in-person and virtual events — seminars, workshops and specialized sessions — held across several cities in the Kingdom. These activities will run continuously until the Second Saudi Forum for Statistics on Nov. 8, directly preceding the global UN gathering.
The program underscores GASTAT’s commitment to enhancing Saudi Arabia’s international standing in statistics, building on recent national achievements across global indicators. GASTAT has published the full schedule of “Road to Riyadh” events on its official website. — SG
