RIYADH — The National Center for Non-Profit Sector has taken punitive measures against several non-profit organizations and individuals for violating relevant regulations and bylaws.

These include serving 397 warning notices to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), dismissal of three boards of directors of NGOs, merger of two NGOs, nullification of election results of one NGO, revocation of licenses of two NGOs, revocation of the license of a family fund, and serving warning notice to a family fund. The Center also addressed 77 reports of violations of the fundraising regulations, in addition to issuing 11 notices for fundraising violations, holding 8 hearings, and referring 71 entities to the competent authorities for violating relevant regulations and bylaws.

The center also summoned two social media influencers for questioning. This was due to suspicions that they were promoting advertisements in violation of the Fundraising Law, which penalizes media outlets that advertise for unlicensed entities.

The center called on individuals and NGOs to strictly adhere to the regulations, guidelines, and procedures governing the non-profit sector. It urged the public to contact it through its customer care channels, including the unified call center (19918), its website (ncnp.gov.sa), and its social media accounts.

The center also stressed the need for collaboration between itself and individuals and non-profit organizations to contribute to the development of the non-profit sector and maximize its social and economic impact so as to achieve the desired national goals.
