JAZAN — A Saudi citizen and 14 Yemeni and Ethiopian illegals were arrested for drug smuggling in the southern Jazan and Asir regions.
Border Guard land patrols arrested them for smuggling 47 kg of hashish and 240 kg of khat. The Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals entered the Kingdom after violating the border security regulations.
Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Dayer sector of the Jazan region apprehended 11 Ethiopian and Yemeni violators for smuggling 180 kg of khat. The patrol teams in the Al-Raboua sector of the Asir region caught three Yemenis for smuggling 60 kg of khat. They also arrested a Saudi citizen in the Dhahran Al-Janoub sector of the same region for smuggling 47 kg of hashish.
The security patrols said that the arrested persons were handed over to the concerned security authorities after completing the initial legal procedures. The security authorities urged citizens and expatriates to report to them any information available with them about any activities related to drug smuggling and sale.
