TABUK — The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) recorded on Saturday two earthquakes in Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
The SGS reported that its National Seismic Monitoring Network recorded an earthquake approximately 86 km northwest of Harrat Al-Shaqa, located between the governorate of Al-Ais in the Madinah region and Umluj governorate in the Tabuk region.
The SGS stated that its stations recorded an earthquake measuring 3.43 on the Richter scale. Harrat Al-Shaqa is one of the Kingdom's most prominent volcanic lava fields. The SGS also reported recording an earthquake in Iraq measuring 5.09 on the Richter scale.
