AL-AHSA — AlUqair Beach is set to host Ramliyah, Saudi Arabia’s inaugural family-focused beach sports festival, from November 25 to 29.
The five-day event will transform the historic coastal area into a vibrant hub of sport, wellness, and family entertainment, welcoming thousands of visitors to AlUqair in the Eastern Province. Ramliyah will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily and admission is free with significant cash prizes of over SR200000 for tournament winners.
Held under the patronage of Governor of Al-Ahsa Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Ramliyah is a landmark initiative for the Kingdom and aligned with Vision 2030’s goal of fostering a healthy and active society.
The event will feature thrilling male and female beach tournaments in soccer, volleyball, and handball, organized by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), with local sports groups and teams competing for cash prizes and medals. Beyond the competitive sports, the expansive beach side festival grounds will include a large Fan Zone with interactive beach games, a Wellness Zone offering yoga and fitness classes, music, and a curated food and beverage area serving diverse cuisine. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out a variety of beach sports through taster sessions organized by Saudi sports federations.
A key highlight is Sports For All’s (SFA) Active Program for those under-18s, a dynamic initiative promoting teamwork, fitness, and fun through sport. Shaima Al-Husseini, Managing Director of the SFA, commented on the program's significance at the festival: “At the Sports for All Federation, our mission is to inspire every individual in Saudi Arabia to embrace an active lifestyle. We are proud to bring the first 2025 edition of our Active Program to Ramliyah as it brings this vision to life. We invite Saudi youth to participate, get active, and create unforgettable memories by the sea.”
Ramliyah is delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Sport, AlAhsa Development Authority, Al-Ahsa Municipality, Saudi Arabian Football Federation and Saudi Sports For All Federation. Program and marketing partners include Saudi Hockey Federation, Saudi Canoe & Kayak, Saudi Sailing Federation, Saudi Handball Federation, Saudi Volleyball Federation, AlFateh SC, AlAdalah, Al Ettifaq FC and Al Qadsiah FC. ASICS and Tawuniya Insurance are sponsors of Active Program.
Ramliyah is open daily from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 November from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at AlUqair Beach. Additionally, there will be free shuttle buses available from Al-Khobar and Al-Hofuf. Registration for attendance and tournament participation is mandatory. Registration link:
