RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman sent cables to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, offering condolences and expressing sympathy over the victims of the crash of a cargo airplane belonging to the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
In his cable, the King extended his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the Turkish president, the families of the deceased, and the Turkish people, praying to God Almighty to grant the departed His vast mercy and forgiveness and to bestow patience and solace upon their families.
The Crown Prince, in his cable, conveyed to the Turkish president and the families of the deceased his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, praying to God Almighty to grant mercy to the departed.
Turkey said on Wednesday that 20 of its soldiers were killed when a military transport plane crashed in Georgia, with all but one of the bodies recovered. The C-130 cargo aircraft left Azerbaijan for Turkey and crashed in Georgia on Tuesday, leaving chunks of twisted metal strewn across a grassy knoll.
