RIYADH — The Saudi Council of Ministers expressed hope that the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) conference, being held in Riyadh, would help translate visions into practical strategies that drive joint international action for global development and prosperity.

The Cabinet session, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday, expressed its gratitude to the leaders and heads of government of friendly countries for attending the conference. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet approved amendments to some articles of the Regulations of Hajj Service Providers for Foreign Pilgrims.

The Cabinet affirmed that the agreement with Pakistan to launch an Economic Cooperation Framework is an extension of the two countries' efforts to consolidate fraternal relations and reflects their shared vision for building a sustainable partnership across various economic, trade, and investment fields, ultimately serving the aspirations and common interests of peoples of both countries.

The Cabinet reviewed the contents of talks held between Saudi Arabia and a number of countries worldwide aimed at expanding the frameworks of mutual bilateral cooperation in various fields to achieve common interests and enhance coordination on global issues and challenges.

Al-Dossary said the Cabinet also reviewed regional and global developments and the international efforts under way to address them. The Cabinet reiterated its strongest condemnation of the Israeli Knesset's approval of two draft laws aimed at imposing sovereignty over the West Bank and illegal colonial settlements. The Council also affirmed its support for the legitimate and historical right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's support for diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving disputes through peaceful means and establishing international peace and security. In this context, it welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia as paving the way for a sustainable peace that fulfills the aspirations of both countries and their peoples.

The Cabinet discussed developments in partnerships with international organizations, noting the Kingdom's planned hosting of the UNCTAD Global Supply Chain Forum in 2026. It stated that hosting the forum affirms the Kingdom's global position in supporting international trade, strengthening cooperation among countries, and enhancing logistical connectivity.

The Cabinet commended the success of the Global Health Exhibition held in Riyadh and the announcement of initiatives and investments totaling approximately SR124 billion, which are expected to strengthen the Kingdom's leadership in the medical and healthcare sectors, localize technologies, and support innovation in line with national objectives.

On domestic affairs, the Cabinet reviewed a number of economic indicators and statistics, noting the continued growth of non-oil exports as the national economy diversifies its pathways to support various key and promising sectors and activities.

The Cabinet also commended the launch of new renewable energy projects across several regions of the Kingdom, with a total capacity of 4,500 megawatts and investments exceeding SR9 billion, which will contribute to achieving the optimal energy mix for electricity production by 2030 and enhance the Kingdom’s global leadership in this field.

The Cabinet authorized the chairman of the board of directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission or his deputy to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission for cooperation in the field of nuclear safety, security, and radiation protection.

It approved Saudi Arabia's full membership in the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Donor Advisory Group. The Cabinet authorized the minister of environment, water and agriculture or his deputy to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Indian Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the field of trade and technical exchange in the palm and dates sector.

The Cabinet authorized the minister of commerce and chairman of the board of directors of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority or his deputy to discuss and sign draft memoranda of understanding with the authority's counterparts in India, South Africa, France, Singapore, Sweden, and Thailand for cooperation in the fields related to small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship.

It approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Human Rights Commission and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for technical cooperation. The Cabinet also authorized the minister of communications and information technology and chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Space Agency or his deputy to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Turkish Space Agency for cooperation in the field of the peaceful uses of outer space.
