RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has reconstituted the Supreme Judicial Council. Justice Minister Dr. Walid Al-Samaani has been reappointed acting chairman of the Council.
According to the royal decree issued by the King, members of the Council include Supreme Court Chief Justice, Attorney General, Deputy Minister of Justice, and several judges.
In a statement, Al-Samaani expressed his thanks and appreciation to King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of the issuance of the royal order forming the Supreme Judicial Council and reposing trust in him as acting chairman of the Council.
Al-Samaani emphasized that the leadership’s significant support for the judicial system has contributed to the development of the judicial system and enhanced its efficiency. He supplicated God Almighty to preserve the leadership and to perpetuate the blessings of security, stability, and prosperity in the country.
The royal order included the appointment of the following judges as members of the Council: Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sabil, Sheikh Majid Al-Rujai’i, Sheikh Abdul Salam Al-Ghamdi, and Sheikh Saleh Al-Omari, as members of the Supreme Judicial Council for a period of four years, in accordance with Paragraph B of Article 5 of the Judicial Law. The King appointed Sheikh Fahd Al-Majed, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Asmari, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Atram, and Sheikh Mishaal Al-Arini, as members of the Council for a period of four years, in accordance with Paragraph E of Article 5 of the Judicial Law.
Professor Badr bin Abdul Mohsen, Professor Abdullah Al-Hamad, and Dr. Mishaal Al-Mas’ad have been appointed as members of the Council for a period of four years, in accordance with Paragraph W of Article 5 of the Judicial Law.
The members expressed their thanks and appreciation to the leadership for this generous trust, emphasizing that it represents a duty and an honor that motivates them to continue giving and exerting more effort in serving the nation.
