SHARM EL-SHEIKH — On behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the Gaza Peace Summit held in the Egyptian coastal resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday. More than 20 world leaders attended the summit, co-chaired by United States President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi.
Representatives of several other countries and international organizations were also present. The summit witnessed the signing of the Gaza Peace Deal that aimed to end the war in the Gaza Strip and enhance efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
At the outset of the summit meeting, the leaders welcomed the agreement reached by the parties to the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the efforts made by Trump and the mediating countries such as Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. The leaders pledged their full support for all the efforts aimed to achieve peace and stability in the region.
At the conclusion of the summit, leaders of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey signed an agreement to end the war in Gaza, a first step toward a comprehensive ceasefire, ensuring the continued flow of aid, completing prisoner and hostage exchanges, and working toward future reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.
The Saudi delegation, headed by Prince Faisal bin Farhan, is included Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan; Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Hussaini; Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office Walid Al-Samaeel; Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Manal Radwan; and Advisor to the Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Yahya.
