RIYADH — Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih led a high-level delegation comprising public and private sector officials on an official visit to Tajikistan on Monday.
During the visit, Al-Falih met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda, several ministers, and a group of prominent Tajik business and financial leaders. The visit reflected the commitment of both Saudi and Tajik leaderships to strengthening the two countries’ investment relations and strategic partnership, with a focus on priority investment sectors and supporting their investors.
On the sidelines of the visit, the two nations held the fifth session of the Saudi-Tajik Joint Governmental Committee and the second Saudi–Tajik Business Council Meeting. These meetings aimed to develop relations in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan for the Period Up to 2030 (NDS 2030), while providing direct investment opportunities for Saudi companies in Tajikistan.
The discussions also focused on fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors in various priority areas, including energy, mining, health, agriculture, and food, among others.
Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan enjoy well-established relations across economic, diplomatic, humanitarian, and cultural domains. The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has been active in Tajikistan since 2002, financing 14 development projects and programs through concessional loans totaling more than $323 million to support a range of vital sectors.
