The arrests follow investigations carried out by the officials of the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) about the involvement of 387 suspects in various corruption charges. This was after conducting as many as 2,662 inspection tours across the Kingdom during the month of September.
The Nazaha said in a statement on Wednesday that the arrested persons were employees of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of the National Guard, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The Nazaha initiated several criminal and administrative cases against the arrested suspects over charges of bribery and abuse of power.
