ALULA — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the opening session of the Munich Leaders Meeting (MLM) at the Maraya Hall in AlUla on Wednesday. Nearly 100 senior international leaders are taking part in the Munich Leaders Meeting (MLM), which is part of the Munich Security Conference, being hosted by Saudi Arabia for the first time.
The MLM in AlUla comes at a critical time amid ongoing geopolitical developments and volatility in the Middle East. At the center is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, especially the 20-point peace proposal for Gaza by US President Donald Trump.
The meeting addresses a number of current security challenges and explores potential solutions to regional and international issues. It will also discuss various global topics, most notably developments in the Gaza Strip, global food security, climate and energy security, and related issues.
The two-day conference is also discussing other key issues including the Iranian nuclear program, the future of Syria, the Palestinian issue, the war in Ukraine, Red Sea and energy security, economic integration, and the proposed India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.
The Kingdom's hosting of the conference is further cementing its role as a key platform for international dialogue on security and political affairs. It reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the principle of international dialogue and to strengthening cooperation on regional and international issues, reflecting its support for intercultural dialogue and its commitment to hosting conferences and forums that promote this objective.
