RIYADH — An Arab national was arrested in the Northern Borders region for practicing healthcare without a license and advertising his illegal activity on social media. The arrest was made by the Ministry of Health officials, in cooperation with security authorities. This is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to protect public health.
The ministry said that the Arab national was found traveling to patients' homes in his own vehicle to provide various healthcare services, including physiotherapy, chiropractic adjustments, post-stroke rehabilitation, treatment for herniated discs, and general fatigue management. All these were in direct violation of the regulations governing the practice of healthcare professions and putting patients' lives at risk.
The ministry stated that the violator was arrested in coordination with security authorities and referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. The penalties for such violations include up to six months in prison and a fine of up to SR100,000.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that it will not tolerate any violations of regulations and will continue to intensify its inspection campaigns to protect the community and ensure public safety.
The ministry clarified that these measures are primarily aimed at ensuring that healthcare services are provided by qualified professionals in licensed healthcare facilities. It urged citizens and residents to report any violations or unauthorized healthcare practices immediately to the unified call center 937, stressing that public awareness and cooperation are the first line of defense against such transgressions.
