RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has announced an additional $368 million (SR1.38 billion) in aid for the Yemeni people through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
The support, ordered by King Salman and based on recommendations from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to helping Yemen achieve security, stability, and development.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the package is aimed at strengthening Yemen’s economic, financial, and monetary stability amid severe economic challenges, and comes in response to an appeal from Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.
The aid will cover government budgetary support, fuel supplies, and the operational budget of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden.
The statement emphasized that the assistance is structured with governance measures to reinforce the Yemeni government’s economic reform efforts.
