Prince Faisal heads to New York to lead Saudi delegation at UNGA

RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan departed Friday for New York to lead the Kingdom’s delegation at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The delegation includes Princess Reema bint Bandar, Saudi Ambassador to the United States; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir; Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim; Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah; Deputy Minister for Multilateral International Affairs and Supervisor General of the Ministry’s Public Diplomacy Agency Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi; and Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

On the sidelines of the General Assembly, Saudi Arabia will host several initiatives and high-level meetings aimed at strengthening regional and global security, diplomacy, humanitarian efforts, and development.

These include chairing the international leaders’ conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, as well as the ministerial-level meeting of the International Coalition to implement the two-state solution.

Prince Faisal and the delegation will also take part in the UN’s 80th anniversary commemoration and attend a series of official meetings focused on advancing multilateral cooperation, addressing regional and global developments, and reinforcing international peace and security.

Discussions will also touch on joint efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

In addition, the delegation will hold bilateral meetings with representatives of allied and partner states, as well as senior officials from international organizations participating in the high-level UNGA week.
