RIYADH — Deputy Emir of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman presented the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Class to the citizen Maher Al-Dalbahi in a ceremony held at the emirate office in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The medal was presented in implementation of the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and based on the recommendation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in recognition of his bravery in saving lives of several people from a potential disaster at a fuel station in Al-Dawadmi governorate.

The deputy emir praised Al-Dalbahi’s heroic act, which reflected the noble values of the citizens of this nation in sacrifice and courage, stressing that the wise leadership’s directive demonstrates its constant pride in its loyal citizens and appreciation of their honorable and brave stances. Al-Dalbahi expressed his deep gratitude to the King and the Crown Prince for the honor and care that he had received.

Al-Dalbahi staved off a disaster that could have claimed the lives of dozens of people when a fire broke out in a truck loaded with fodder at a gas station in Al-Jamsh town in the Al-Dawadmi governorate in the Riyadh region. Showing extraordinary bravery and presence of mind, Al-Dalbahi rushed to get into the truck and quickly drove it away from the fuel tanks, preventing a massive explosion that could have had disastrous consequences.
