RIYADH — Several people were arrested after foiling attempts to smuggle in a huge cache of hashish in various regions of the Kingdom.
The General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics arrested an Ethiopian border security violator, two Yemeni residents, and a Palestinian resident in the Jeddah governorate for trafficking six kilograms of hashish. They were referred to the Public Prosecution after taking legal action against them.
The General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested a Saudi citizen in the Asir region for circulating 30 kilograms of hashish. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.
The land patrols of the Border Guards in the Daer sector in the Jazan region foiled the smuggling of 45 kilograms of hashish. The initial legal procedures were completed, and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority.

The security authorities urged citizens and expatriates to report any information they have about any activities related to drug smuggling or trafficking, through calling the numbers 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province and 999 in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, and the General Directorate for Narcotics Control’s reporting number 995, and via email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. They said that all reports will be treated with complete confidentiality.
