CAIRO
— Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Cairo on Sunday to take part in high-level discussions on the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The meeting, organized by the Ministerial Committee formed during the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, will bring together top diplomats, including EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

The talks aim to address the latest developments in Gaza and explore ways to ease tensions and strengthen humanitarian efforts.

The death toll from Israel’s military campaign surpassed 50,000, where Palestinian authorities warned on Sunday that Gaza continues to face an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

On Thursday, The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee reiterated its demand to the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities by immediately intervening to put pressure on Israel to halt its aggression on the Gaza Strip and comply with UN resolutions and international law with regard to Palestine.

The committee, which was formed on November 11, 2023, includes the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Türkiye, Indonesia, Nigeria, Palestine, as well as the secretary generals of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
