DAMASCUS — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has launched three medical volunteer programs in Damascus, Syria, focusing on cochlear implants and auditory rehabilitation, pediatric oncology treatment, and orthopedic surgery.

These initiatives are part of the Saudi Aml Volunteer Program, which runs from February 5-12, 2025, with the participation of specialized medical volunteers.

Since the beginning of the campaign, the KSRelief medical team has successfully performed 22 tumor surgeries, 12 cochlear implant procedures, 4 pediatric surgeries, 5 pediatric orthopedic operations, and 6 joint replacement and orthopedic surgeries, all of which were completed successfully.

The Saudi Aml Volunteer Program aims to conduct 104 medical and surgical campaigns across various Syrian cities, providing training, educational programs, and economic empowerment initiatives for underserved communities. More than 3,000 volunteers are expected to participate in this humanitarian effort.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader medical relief programs led by KSRelief, aiming to enhance Syria’s healthcare sector and improve access to critical medical services for those in need.
