Jawazat takes punitive action against 18,838 violators of residency and work regulations

RIYADHThe General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) issued 18,838 administrative decisions in January 2025 against citizens and residents for violating residency, work and border security regulations. The penalties varied between imprisonment, financial fines and removal order.

The Jawazat stressed to all citizens and residents, including business owners and individuals, not to transport, employ or shelter violators of residency, work and border security regulations, or to cover up for them or provide them with any means of assistance in finding job opportunities, housing or transportation.

It also called for cooperation and reporting violators of residency, work and border security regulations by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and (999) in the rest of the regions of Saudi Arabia.
