FIFA announces nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024

ZURICH — FIFA revealed the nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024 on Friday, highlighting football's brightest stars across men's and women's categories. The awards will feature fan voting, which is open on FIFA.com until December 10.

Best Men's Player

Lionel Messi (Inter Miami/Argentina) and Toni Kroos (Real Madrid/Germany, retired) headline the list of nominees. Real Madrid leads the pack with six nominees, including Dani Carvajal, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Jr.

Best Women's Player

Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati, winner of the Women's Ballon d'Or and 2022–23 FIFA Best Women's Footballer, is among the contenders. Other notable names include Lauren Hemp (Manchester City/England) and Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns/United States).

For the first time, fans can vote for The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11.
