RIYADH — Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi launched the Family Guidance Strategy.

The launching was held while opening the 7th edition of the 2024 Family Forum, which is organized by the Family Affairs Council in Riyadh under the slogan "Family and family guidance build strength from within in a changing world.”

The Family Guidance Strategy includes more than 12 initiatives that cover all family and societal requirements. It focuses on empowering and improving the performance of those working in the field of family guidance, in addition to qualifying them and developing their capabilities and skills. It enhances society’s understanding of the role of family guidance and its positive impact in improving family relations, resolving conflicts and supporting stability, through organizing and implementing several qualitative programs and initiatives for society and the family.

It also includes expanding the scope of the provided family services, increasing geographical coverage and providing services to the largest possible number of beneficiaries in all regions of the Kingdom. The ministry will work to issue licenses for 500 practitioners in 2024 in order to reach 4,000 family counseling practitioners by the end of 2030.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, through the Family Counseling Strategy, improves the effectiveness and efficiency of social services, and achieves the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the ministry’s plan for social development.

It is noteworthy that the Family Counseling Strategy went through several stages that included conducting several standard comparisons of international and regional experiences in the field, and holding more than 12 workshops with the participation of 13 governmental and private entities. This comes within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to enhance family stability, believing in the importance of the family in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development goals, by improving specialized practices by those working in the field of family counseling.
