Minister of energy meets with Pakistani, Brazilian and Libyan counterparts

RIYADH — Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met ministers of energy from a number of countries in Riyadh on Thursday.

During their meeting, Prince Abdulaziz and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across the energy sector. These include petroleum supply, renewable energy, energy efficiency, investment opportunities, and the exchange of expertise in the development of projects, policies, and regulatory frameworks.


The minister of energy met with Minister of Mines and Energy of Brazil Alexandre Silveira de Oliveira during which they discussed cooperation across the energy sector, including electricity, renewable energy, and oil and gas, as well as the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise.

Prince Abdulaziz also met with the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou. Their discussions covered cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, electricity, renewable energy, clean hydrogen, carbon-reduction technologies, and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), within the framework of the memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation between the two countries.

The minister of energy also held talks with Libya’s Acting Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Khalifa Rajab Abdulsadek. During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation across the energy sector, including energy technologies and solutions, and explored opportunities to enhance investment and cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
