RIYADH — The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has announced the signing of Ivorian Yaya Touré as the assistant coach to the Saudi national team. The appointment comes at the request of Roberto Mancini, the team's Italian head coach, to include Touré in his coaching staff for the upcoming period.

Yaya Touré expressed his enthusiasm about joining the coaching staff for the Saudi National Team, saying: "Being part of football in Saudi Arabia gives me an opportunity to work in a Muslim country for the first time in my career. This is something I have always wanted to do. I cannot wait to get out on the field and start coaching at an exciting time for the game in Saudi Arabia."

At the age of 40, Yaya Touré boasts four years of coaching experience, having worked with three clubs as an assistant coach. He has been involved with Olympic Donetsk in Ukraine, Ahmat Grozny in Russia, and Standard Liege in Belgium. Additionally, he has served as the coach for the under-16 team at English club Tottenham Hotspur.

Touré has had a illustrious playing career with various top clubs globally, most notably Barcelona in Spain and Manchester City in England. It was at Manchester City where he played a crucial role in the team clinching the English Premier League title after a prolonged period without success, under the management of Mancini, who was the coach of City at that time.
